What really happens behind the scenes at the major hire companies who supply event furniture for your party?
Firstly you need to choose the style of chair you need to make your party look the way you want – Once you’ve decided on a theme or colour scheme you can make a decision on the style you wnat. This can range form simple wood folding to gilt, silver or even transparent chairs.
Certain chairs suit cetain settings better – for example, a lime washed camelot chair looks great at a wedding whereas a polycarbonate Phantom chair would look superb in a starlit marquee for a 21st birthday party.
Once you’ve ordered you can leave it to the professionals.
The week before your event, the details will be passed to the logistics department who will schedule in a delivery time to fit in with the party organiser or marquee people’s schedule.
Prior to delivery it may be necessary for the warehouse crew to re-pad the chairs in the correct colour or to clean and inspect chrome or plastic furniture.
At the allocated time the chairs will be loaded onto a van or lorry and sent on their way.
Companies such as Blacks will arrive and set the chairs and tables up as required.
Often the marquee hire company will sub-hire furniture for you – maybe adding a handling charge for the priveledge.
Hopefully you will then proceed to have a great party after which we will call round and remove the hired items. Along with your party we will have delivered thousands of other chairs. As you recover, we will return all hire furniture to our base ready to inspect and begin all over again – no doubt the chairs you will have just sat on will quickly be in use again as the next party gets underway.
